Answering to an ancient call, Time is right to plant in the old continent the seeds of a Copernican turn in the Sound Work community.
Since 2021 there has been an acceleration in the degradation processes of our society in all its aspects. We are witnessing the rapid transformation of our world, and each one of us has the option to be a passive witness or an agent of change. As external circumstances become more difficult, more people turn to the so-called alternative therapies, traditional medicine and spirituality. But pseudo-spirituality and the commodification of ancient wisdom, generally reduced to its most superficial layers at best, and at most totally distorted by its sources, has likewise increased.
Brought together by the magnetism and wisdom of Dr. Mitch Nur, the founding members of 9Ways Europe aim to plant in these lands the seeds of change that is needed in the Sound Therapy community and to bring the invaluable wisdom of the 9Ways Academia Faculty to Europe.
The starting point is the recovery of the distorted role that has been given to women in the history of our work. In Europe, the roots of Sound Work have their origin in the first matrifocal civilizations that were gathered around a Goddess who was not only a symbol of fertility, but also a creator, a destroyer, a regenerator and, also, an agent of infinite fertility of nature. A more balanced review of the origins of the use of Sound to alter states of consciousness and promote health is the first pillar for our programs and events in these lands.
The second is the integration and solidarity among all the Sound Workers of the world. As in all therapeutic and artistic disciplines, the battle for the individual ego is one of the great challenges, but our work requires an opposite movement: an attitude of being of service and compassion for all living things and an attitude of openness and listening towards our clients, colleagues and companions along the way.
9Ways Academia Europe also is called to serve as a hub for gathering, research and creativity among Sound Workers from all over the world in Europe.

Mitch Nur, PhD is the Founder and Director of 9Ways. With 50 years’ dedication to Sound Therapy research and Archeomusicology, he has built the dream of bringing all his wisdom to the Sound Workers of Europe.
Mallika Paritosh is responsible for coordinating the activities and events of 9Ways in Europe. She also creates innovative forms of artistic and academic collaboration between the Academy’s students and the international community of Sound Workers. She was born in Argentina and now lives in Portugal.
Anika Petrovic is the main assistant for the organisation of events and training courses. She is also responsible for ensuring the well-being of students and teachers during our events and programs. Anika was born and lives in Serbia.
